The People Behind the Training

The Be Crash Free team brings RiderCoaches and leaders with deep riding experience, supportive teraching styles, and a shared commitment to helping riders build confidence and skill.

Helen Schleicher

Instructor

Helen, who first started riding in her 20s to join in on the fun with friends, brings an infectious enthusiasm and supportive spirit to every class. She believes in adapting her teaching style to each student's needs, and when she's not adventure touring, she's at home on her hobby farm with her mini jersey cow.

Les Mlsna

Instructor

A rider since he was 10 years old, this coach's core philosophy is "There is no failure, only feedback," making every lesson a positive experience. When he's not cruising on his Honda Goldwing, he enjoys relaxing at his seasonal campsite near Eagle River.

Oksana Karaman

Instructor

Oksanna merged her love for rocky dirt trails and street riding into a passion for adventure, often found moto-camping on her Yamaha Tenere 700. As both an MSF and Accident Scene Management (ASM) instructor, she brings a "calm and calculated" approach to coaching, believing that mastery begins in the mind.

Tyler Yob

Instructor

A hands-on builder who completely rebuilt his first bike from a "basket case," Tyler loves making classes fun with practical, relatable examples. He lives for the "light bulb" moment when a student's face lights up with understanding, and when he's not on his trials bike, he's welding custom buggies or racing sailboats.

Matthew Wallace

Chief Operating Officer

As Be Crash Free's COO and a 30-year Air Force veteran, Matthew brings decades of leadership experience to his patient, positive, and approachable coaching style. He's a nationally recognized instructor trainer who believes "not all who wander are lost" and loves helping every rider find confidence and value in their own journey.

Jeremy S Venable Jr.

Instructor

A rider since he was 7 years old, Jeremy's teaching philosophy centers on empowering students to actively participate in their own learning. When he's not enjoying a ride down scenic country roads, he's pursuing a degree in zoology and spending time with his two pet geese, Moose and Peach.

Ax Axmaker

Chief Knowledge Officer

Ax got his start on a paper route, but his passion for teaching began when he took his first class and got "hooked," becoming an instructor that same year. He believes a relaxed, smiling coach helps students relax, and he loves challenging his 1997 Honda Valkyrie on long trips and through tight cone patterns.

Steve Kirsch

Chief Executive Officer

NOTHING

Dick Friel

Technology Specialist

Hooked from his first throttle twist at age 30, Dick loves exploring scenic mountain roads on his Versys 1000. He's a firm believer that context is the key to understanding, and he spends his off-time at the dog park with his beagle, Philip.

Bill Jenkins

Instructor

With over six decades of riding and racing experience, Bill believes the best upgrade you can buy for your bike is training, and he brings a clear, encouraging style to every class. When he's not on an adventure ride, he's turning wrenches on equipment or sharing his passion for the high desert trails with his grandsons.
